To illustrate the importance of this issue, Kolemen played a clip from back to the future showing the “Mr. Fusion” device used to power a time-traveling car. Kolemen explained that process control should allow fusion to take place in a space of 5 or 6 meters in diameter, though he doubts that it would ever be possible in something as small as the Mr. Fusion. He outlined several methods for creating fusion energy, starting with the obvious example of the sun. This type of fusion energy is not attainable, though, for an obvious reason.

Producer Peter Saraf discusses 'Loving'

Peter Saraf, producer of the 2016 film "Loving," participated in a question-and-answer session at the Princeton Garden Theater on Dec. 16. "Loving" depicts the true story of the interracial relationship of Richard and Mildred Loving, who were married in 1958 and subsequently arrested. The couple entered in a legal battle for their relationship that ended in the landmark Supreme Court case, Loving v. Virginia.

Jeroudi discusses low-cost carrier threat to legacy airlines

Established airlines will be increasingly jeopardized by newer, low-cost carriers in 2017 and as time goes on, according to Air France Joint Venture Performance Director Omar Jeroudi in a lecture on Tuesday afternoon. Jeroudi emphasized the challenges that legacy carriers such as Delta, Air France, and United Airlines will and are currently facing from low-cost airlines such as Ryanair and easyJet in terms of profitability and sustainability.

MASJID addresses post-election impacts on Muslim community

Members of the Princeton community, including town residents and University students and faculty, came together on Tuesday, Nov. 29 to discuss the challenges facing the Muslim community in the wake of the 2016 presidential election in a forum. Speakers in the forum discussed issues such as anti-Muslim rhetoric and violence, civil and human rights, immigration, civic engagement, local politics, foreign policy, and international affairs. Favoring a town hall style, moderators listened to and wrote down points and concerns suggested by members of the audience on panels mounted around the room.

Three journalists discuss diversity in the media industry

The Daily Princetonian held a dynamic panel on Thursday to discuss the aspect of diversity, or lack thereof, in newsrooms and the media industry. The panel was moderated by Sarah Sakha ’18, who began the event by asking each of the panelists about their professional lives and general opinions on the issue of diversity in journalism. Sakha is an associate opinion editor for the ‘Prince’. Benét Wilson, who has hosted workshops and discussions on diversity, said that she is inspired to continue participating in events because of the students she meets and learning about their successes later on.

Yale Law School lecturer Linda Greenhouse discussed the cyclical nature of the judicial-legislative relationship and the transition into a more scrutinous Supreme Court in a lecture on Thursday evening. Greenhouse focused the lecture around several federal courts’ recent decisions to invalidate three separate restrictive abortion and voting laws in Texas and North Carolina for deliberate human civil rights violations in order to reveal the increasingly rigorous standards of the judiciary.
