New USG treasurer promises more money spent on students in next year

At its Feb.13 meeting, the USG approved a $290,000 budget and Treasurer Walker Penfield ’25 explained that he plans to tap into additional reserve funds. The USG also approved the Ad Hoc Committees on Student Disciplinary Processes and Data Analysis.

USG passes resolution on antisemitism, initiates referendum on gender-neutral bathrooms

At a Nov. 16 meeting, which was an extension of the regular weekly USG meetings held on Sundays, the USG passed a resolution to “condemn and combat antisemitism” and voted to add a referendum on the expansion of gender-neutral bathrooms to the upcoming winter election ballot.

USG declines to sponsor referendum on antisemitism

The referendum, proposed by USG Treasurer Adam Hoffman ’23, received four votes in favor, one against, and 19 abstentions, not meeting the threshold of at least nine “yes” votes to appear on election ballots as a Senate-initiated referendum.

USG delays elections reforms, approves additional budget allocations

The election reforms, which were unanimously approved on Oct. 9, will not go into effect for USG’s winter elections, except for a language change regarding an “Abstain” vote. All other reforms will go into effect in the spring election cycle.
