Princeton community mourns Xinjiang fire victims, stands with protestors

Princeton students gathered in front of Nassau Hall on Nov. 29 in solidarity with those who recently died in an apartment fire in Urumqi in light of China’s restrictive zero-COVID policies. Attendees, which included Chinese international students and prominent human rights activist Teng Biao, sung Chinese protest songs and shared anti-censorship speeches.

Princeton students gathered in front of Nassau Hall on Nov. 29 in solidarity with those who recently died in an apartment fire in Urumqi in light of China’s restrictive zero-COVID policies. Princeton deploys first electric bus, plans to add more

The University will introduce a fleet of all-electric buses into service this week, as a part of the University’s goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2046. According to the director of the University’s Transportation and Parking Services, the new buses will be less noisy and offer a smoother ride than those currently in use.
