At an event run by Princeton Future on Tuesday morning, students from the Rutgers University Graduate Urban Design Studio presented their research on economic development and transportation along the Alexander Street corridor, the site of the University’s proposed Arts and Transit Neighborhood, to an audience of roughly 20 community members at the Princeton Public Library.

The report and recommendations of the Joint Revaluation Study Commission of Princeton released on Monday contained a proposal for an unprecedented municipal public loan program that would allow qualifying homeowners to defer the burden of rising property taxes until a later date and give struggling residents more time to plan a way to repay their loans.

Public Safety warns of luring suspect

Public Safety Captain Donald P. Reichling sent out a campus-wide safety alert on Monday afternoon cautioning that a suspicious individual has been targeting young women at local college campuses.According to the University’s Campus Safety alert, the individual, 68-year-old Tony Kadyhrob, has not been linked to Princeton’s campus and the email was merely precautionary.

Yield growth not expected with change in admit rate

Despite seeing a record-high 27,189 applicants for the Class of 2015, the University’s initial acceptance rate of 8.39 percent is slightly higher than last year’s rate of 8.18 percent. It extended offers of admission to 2,282 students on Wednesday.Since the Class of 2011 admissions cycle in 2007, the University’s acceptance rate has remained below 10 percent and has decreased each year aside from slight upticks this year and in 2009.However, Dean of Admission Janet Rapelye said that admission rates have decreased so sharply in recent years that slight differences between years have become insignificant.
