The Freshman First Honor Prize, awarded annually to a current sophomore who achieved exceptional academic standing during their freshman year, went to Eugene Katsevich ’14, a prospective mathematics major from Oviedo, Fla.
The George B. Wood Legacy Sophomore Prize, awarded to the current junior who achieved high academic standing in their sophomore year, was awarded to Irene Lo ’13 and Aman Sinha ’13.
Lo is an mathematics major from Sydney, Australia, and is the former recipient of the Freshman First Honor Prize, the Shapiro Prize for Academic Excellence and the Manfred Pyka Memorial Prize in Physics. Sinha is from Ivyland, Pa., and is a mechanical and aerospace engineering major. He is also a previous recipient of the Shapiro Prize.
The George B. Wood Legacy Junior Prize, awarded to a member of the senior class who achieved outstanding academic status in their junior year, was awarded to Anna Patej ’12 and Jonathan Sarnoff ’12.
Patej, from Irvine, Calif., is a physics major and the former recipient of the Allen G. Shenstone Prize in Physics, the Kusaka Memorial Prize in Physics and the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, as well as two Shapiro Prizes. Sarnoff, from Stamford, Conn., is a philosophy major and the recipient of two Shapiro Prizes and the Quin Morton ’36 Writing Seminar Essay prize. Sarnoff is also chair of the Daily Princetonian editorial board.
The Class of 1939 Princeton Scholar Award, which recognizes the undergraduate who achieves the highest academic standing for preceding college work by the end of their junior year, was awarded to Nathaniel Fleming ’12 and Tengyao Wang ’12.
Fleming is a psychology major from Eugene, Ore., and the former recipient of two Shapiro Prizes and the Howard Crosby Warren Junior Prize in Psychology. Wang, from Ningbo, China, is a mathematics major and the former recipient of the Freshman First Honor Prize and a Shapiro Prize.
