C-SPAN released its third annual survey of presidential leadership by historians. The survey polled 91 historians, include three University historians, to rank the “43 former occupants of the White House on ten attributes of leadership,” according to a press release from Media Relations Specialist Robin Newton.

A student participant in the 2015 Black Justice League demonstrations on the legacy of Woodrow Wilson, Class of 1879, sent University President Christopher Eisgruber ’83 an email entitled “On Woodrow Wilson, Trump, and White Supremacy.” University trustees were copied on the message. The student wrote the letter in light of Yale President Peter Salovey's decision to change the name of Yale's Calhoun College, in response to controversy surrounding the college’s name.

Yale University decided to change the name of the controversial Calhoun College after a report was published from Yale’s Committee to Establish Principles on Renaming, and after years of debate and protest on its campus, according to a press release from Yale. The college name will now honor Grace Murray Hopper, who earned her M.A. from Yale in 1930 and her Ph.D. from Yale in 1934.

In an email to most sophomores and the residential college listservs, Kyle Berlin ’18 and Sofia Hiltner ’17 announced St. Archibald’s League, a response to the Bicker process. Sophomores participate in Bicker in order to join one of the six selective eating clubs; five other eating clubs are sign-in, based on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The University’s new Rutgers-Princeton Center for Computational Cognitive Neuropsychiatry will use computational modeling to understand psychiatric diseases, according to a University press release. Opening later in February, the center “aims to improve the diagnosis of mental disorders, better predict their progression and eventually aid in developing treatments.”
