The Prospect is the Daily Princetonian’s new arts and culture blog. Our content will be broken down into four sections: Culture, Street, In the Bubble, and Self.
Culture includes posts about student group performances as well as movie, music, and book reviews.
Street covers the social side of campus, such as featuring fashion inspiration, nights out on Prospect Avenue, or restaurant recommendations.
The complement to Street is Bubble, which covers the academics at Princeton.
The Self section includes our advice columns and tips about self-care.
Within each of these sections, we will cover different facets of student life on campus, featuring both works from our writers and guest submissions from students on campus. Similar to the newspaper, content will be published Monday through Thursday and on an as-needed basis.
Notably, The Prospect will be digital-only. We believe that our digital platform gives us the ability to reach a wider demographic of readers and to present our stories in new ways. Whether it be through videos, photo series, podcasts, graphics, or articles, we aim to provide impactful insight into the issues that matter most on campus.
We aim to reach and represent different groups within the University, using our platform to highlight a wide range of voices. This means championing diversity both through the stories we share and through our writers. At the Prospect, we will cover the topics that are most important to students. This includes not just what happens around campus but also important and sensitive issues, such as race, gender, and sexuality. Princeton is a diverse campus, and we believe it is our duty to reflect this in the work that we do.
A “prospect” represents a venture into the unknown, capturing the sense of both possibility and hope. So, we want to explore the prospect of arts and academics, of friendship and love, of the good memories we make and the struggles as well. We want to explore the prospect of Princeton.
