USLC, VP for Campus Life pilot program deactivating bathroom locks

USG has widely solicited student feedback as they prepare to institute the program, disseminating a survey and hosting two forums for students to ask questions. While Johnson says he believes that “most students. . .will recognize the positives” of the program, Czulak recognizes that the survey results have not been unanimously in favor of the policy, and hopes that the University will be able to follow the consensus of many diverse viewpoints.

Proposal to increase gender-neutral housing receives support, voting to occur Wednesday

On Nov. 30, the University Student Life Committee will vote on a new policy proposal submitted by the Gender-Inclusive Housing Working Group that would increase the availability of gender-neutral housing. The proposal is especially intended to help transgender and nonbinary students find housing where they feel safe and comfortable.

USG candidates discuss respective platforms

Undergraduate Student Government announced the candidates for next year's offices last Sunday. Dan Qian ’19 is running for vice president of the student body. As vice president, Qian hopes to make USG projects more transparent by surveying student opinion on Senate projects before priorities are set and relaying results of weekly administrator meetings to the student body. With experience on the Senate, Executive Committee, and Core Committee, he has worked with the Vice President, President, and the rest of the Senate.

HackPrinceton attracts over 600 developers, designers

Over six hundred developers and designers from across the nation pooled their mental stamina at HackPrinceton for a straight 36 hour period to create software and hardware projects.  The event, taking place on November 11 to 13, brought together students and seasoned mentors to engage the University’s on-campus and off-campus communities with both new and familiar technologies.

U. students read declaration denouncing South Korean president

A group of University students held a demonstration addressing the recent, ongoing political scandal concerning the South Korean president in front of Nassau Hall at 2 p.m. The demonstration was conceived by four Korean students concerned with the current situation in Korea: Sejin Park ’18, Wonshik Shin ’19, Rachel Lim ’18, and Sally Hahn ’19.

U. Students issue petition in call to action to protect undocumented students

The DREAM Team, an immigrant rights advocacy group on campus, issued an online petition on Monday in support of undocumented students on campus. The “Call to Action to Protect Undocumented Students at Princeton” asks signatories for their name – either individual or organization – class year, and if that individual is a student, a faculty member, or a staff member.

'Asian girls everywhere' poster campaign breaks silence about sexual racialization

“Ni Hao pretty,” “you’re pretty for an Asian,” and “you’re the whitest Asian ever” are among the verbatim comments received by female Asian-American students in the University that will be displayed around campus later this week as a part of a poster campaign. According to Alis Yoo ’19, facilitator of the “Asian girls everywhere” poster campaign sponsored by the Asian American Students Association, the sixteen different samples of posters to be displayed around campus in the next few days represent the authentic experiences of University students in and outside of the classroom.
