Campus transit reform seeks to “make walking and biking ‘irresistible’”

A team comprised of students, faculty, and administrators on the Transportation Advisory Council (TAC) and from Transportation & Parking Services (TPS) began studying Princeton’s transit network in September 2019 to “explore ideas that can make walking and biking ‘irresistible,’” according to the TPS website.

Students, community members protest India's Citizenship Amendment Act

The teach-in and protest was organized by undergraduate students and aimed to stand in solidarity with student-led protests in India that began at Jamia Millia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). In recent weeks, the Indian government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has cracked down on protestors, with 25 deaths reported as of Jan. 10.

Student activists mobilize as Somalia faces severe flooding

According to the latest figures from the United Nations, floods in Somalia's Hiraan region have now displaced 370,000 people, 200,000 of whom are children. With the overflow of the Shabelle river early this October, numerous communities found themselves submerged and trapped in their homes. For many, the events in Somalia represent the increasingly severe and immediate impacts of climate change.
