Women’s volleyball opens Ivy League play with back-to-back wins over Penn

On Friday and Saturday, women’s volleyball opened their first Ivy League games with two wins against Penn. The Tigers have now won every Ivy opening game since 2015, and stand at the top of Ivy Conference standings to kick off the season.

Princeton broke their non-conference winning streak of 17 games, which stretched back to 2016, with the loss against Bryant. Although the team was up 13–3 in the fourth quarter, the Tigers ultimately lost out in overtime fighting through the rain to a strong Bryant team who capitalized on their opportunities when they arose.

Despite keeping things close for the majority of the game, a late surge from the Huskies allowed them to pull away in the fourth quarter. Ayers is credited by many as the man who put Princeton wrestling on the map. During his tenure, Ayers has produced All-Ivy wrestlers, All-Americans, and a National Champion. His legacy will not soon be forgotten.

The Tigers remained undefeated, bringing their season record to 7–0, as 11 teams from across the nation traveled to New Jersey to play at DeNunzio Pool, including five teams ranked in the top 20.
