A University student was robbed last Sunday while walking on Pyne Drive near the Pagoda Tennis Courts at 1:30 a.m., police said.
The student allegedly was approached by an individual described by Public Safety as an African-American male with short black hair and a thin build. The man demanded that the student turn over his money.

The student complied and handed the man between $40 and $50, believing that the man was holding a weapon inside his zipper-down sweatshirt. The man then fled the area in the direction of the Dinky train station.
Public Safety issued a campus-wide e-mail alert later Sunday morning notifying the University community of the event.
