The University’s highest-paid officer, Andrew Golden, who has served as President of the Princeton University Investment Company (PRINCO) since 1995, is set to step down from the role in 2024, according to a University press release. Golden will retire on June 30, 2024, after nearly three decades as president.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) announced on April 17 that they would once again be offering single counseling sessions. Single counseling sessions are hour-long sessions, which give students the opportunity to meet with a CPS counselor for an extended period of time without the standard expectation of consultation or follow-up appointments.

Larry Giberson ’23 pleaded not guilty in his arraignment hearing at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Giberson, who called into the arraignment hearing from campus, was arrested on March 14 for his alleged involvement in the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021. He was indicted by a grand jury on six violations of the U.S. code on April 5.

The USG meeting on Sunday, April 16, got testy at times as U-Councilor Genevieve Shutt ’26 and USG President Stephen Daniels ’24 sparred over ways to engage the student body and the Senate thought of ways to gain a mandate for raising activity fees. U-Council elections also launched this week, with former presidential candidate Isabella Shutt ’24 set to return to the Senate.

Soaring temperatures statewide coincided with Passover celebrations last week, leaving staff in the Center for Jewish Life (CJL) feeling the heat. In the Jewish tradition, it is customary to avoid leavened foods during Passover. The CJL, as the University’s sole kosher dining hall, offers options that adhere to these religious guidelines. The religious holiday resulted in increased workload for staff at the Center. Workers thus have had to endure temperatures in the high 80s, according to Justin Stetka, Senior Operations Manager of the CJL.

On April 5, Larry Giberson ’23 was indicted by a grand jury in the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia on six counts of violations against U.S. code for his alleged involvement in the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. Giberson is reported to have attempted to forcefully enter the Capitol through its Lower West Terrace “tunnel” entrance. His arraignment is set for April 18, where he will enter a plea of guilty or not guilty. Giberson was arrested on March 14 by the Department of Justice (DOJ).
