University should add more non-smoking rooms

In the past couple of years, the University has successfully instituted several dorms designated as substance-free housing and a very few areas as smoke-free zones.Given that the vast majority of undergrads on campus are nonsmokers, there seem to me to be several compelling reasons for the University to significantly increase the amount of smoke-free housing available.

Princeton as an engine for social change

On Wednesday, the 'Prince' reported on the founding of the Princeton Coalition Advocating Investor Responsibility (P-CAIR). This group wants Princeton University Investment Company, through proxy voting, to pressure companies in which Princeton owns a substantial share of stock to adopt socially and environmentally progressive business practices.

Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court spared millions of legal immigrants from the threat of deportation for a drunk driving accident.Josue Leocal, a Haitian immigrant living in Miami, confessed to inflicting serious bodily injury on two people while driving under the influence in 2000.

The midwest is best

Election night a few weeks ago was an exciting time to be from Ohio. The country's fate was left to the Buckeye State, and while I regret the way my fellow Ohioans voted, I still enjoyed the national attention we received.
