Appointed by President Joe Biden in 2021, Malley was placed on unpaid leave two months ago after his security clearance was revoked amidst an ongoing investigation into his handling of classified materials.

GPTZero, created by Edward Tian ’23 out of a senior thesis project, is designed to distinguish between human and AI-written text. Since his initial version went viral last winter, large language models like ChatGPT have progressed. Tian, along with fellow Princeton graduates and current undergraduates, have been working to continuously improve GPTZero’s features in response.
