News & Notes: On day of fall Lawnparties, fewer alcohol transports than last spring’s

Three students were transported for alcohol intoxication to either McCosh Health Center or the University Medical Center of Princeton betweenSunday at 9 a.m.andMonday at 9 a.m., according to statistics provided by the University. This was a significant drop from the timeframe of spring Lawnparties, during which 10 students were transported for alcohol intoxication.

Additionally, two students were transported betweenSaturday at 5 p.m.andSunday at 5 a.m., while four students were transported during the same period the night before for a total of nine transports this weekend.

This past weekend traditionally represents a spike in the number of students hospitalized for excessive alcohol intake, as does the weekend coinciding with Houseparties.

University Spokesperson Martin Mbugua said the number of transports should not be linked to any specific campus event, because transports are not categorized by event or activity.
