Seventy-five designer handbags worth approximately $250,000 were stolen from Princeton Bag Archive on Sept. 1, according to a Tuesday press release from the Princeton Police Department.

The police were alerted to the break-in through a commercial burglar alarm at around 1:50 a.m., according to the press release. The masked intruders shattered the front glass door and burglarized the Witherspoon Street business in under a minute, according to Patch. A police investigation is currently ongoing, although no suspects have been identified.

“The Princeton PD detective bureau is working in conjunction with several other agencies in identifying the suspects in this case,” Princeton Police Department Captain Thomas Lagomarsino wrote in a statement to The Daily Princetonian. “If and when we are able to arrest and charge the suspects involved in this theft we will put out a press release regarding the suspects and charges filed.”

The owners of Princeton Bag Archive shared in an Instagram post that an entire wall of items, including Birkin, Kelly, and rare Chanel bags, was taken at around 1:30 a.m. Security footage from their Instagram shows four masked individuals running into the store and stuffing large bags with stolen merchandise.

According to News12, when the early morning alarm woke the owners of the store, the police were already at the scene. The owners said on Instagram that the store, which opened its doors in late June of this year, will be closed for the next one to two weeks for repairs and security.
