Theater: Tartuffe
L'Avant-Scene, the French theater workshop directed by Florent Masse, presents its second Moliere production of the semester, with arguably the man's most famous play, "Tartuffe." A powerful and layered indictment of religious hypocrisy, "Tartuffe" caused such a scandal in its day that it was banned for several years. The play is being performed in the main gallery of the Princeton University Art Museum, so this is probably the only chance you'll ever have to see "Tartuffe" surrounded by Davids and Da Cortonas.

Music: Posada
To celebrate the Latin American tradition of Posada, get ready to sing Christmas carols as you embark on a journey through campus from Nassau Hall to the Rocky College Common Room. Symbolizing Mary and Joseph's travels to find a safe haven, or posada, this traditional event will end with a prayer service and a holiday party complete with desserts and a piñata, so don't miss out!

Movie: Precious
There's a lot to admire about "Precious." This story of a sexually abused, obese teenage girl trying to find her way in life is certainly uncompromising, and the raw performances, in particular Mo'Nique's monstrous urban mom, are tremendously powerful. How much you'll like the film, however, depends on your tolerance for the incredibly heavy-handed filmmaking style director Lee Daniels employs. He doesn't make points so much as sledgehammer them. Let me put it this way: You'll like it if you liked "Crash."
