My family no longer lives there, and when I go back the place seems too lonely to have housed so much life. If you stand for five minutes, you'll hear only the wind, and maybe an 18-wheeler downshifting on Route 9. Its loneliness is inseparable from its beauty for me, and I imagine myself back there whenever I need a space of solace and quiet.
