THE NOMINEES
Casey Affleck, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Javier Bardem, No Country for Old Men
Philip Seymour Hoffman, Charlie Wilson's War
Hal Holbrook, Into The Wild
Tom Wilkinson, Michael Clayton
WHO SHOULD WIN
Fareed Ben-Youssef: Hal Holbrook
I'm torn in this category, but I'll go with Holbrook. In a movie that is a bit over-the-top, Holbrook brings the subtlety and the heart. It's the impotence in his performance that makes it so special; you feel the disappointment in his life.
Adam Tanaka: Javier Bardem
He is really incredible. I say his villainous performance beats Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal Lecter hands down. This could have been a hammed-up performance like that one, but it isn't at all.

Jun Koh: Javier Bardem
Bardem is definitely going to win. Casey Affleck, however, has proven himself to be the better actor of the Affleck brothers. I'm actually afraid that Holbrook will kick the bucket before the show.
Russell O'Rourke: Javier Bardem
Bardem should win and will win because he has created a completely original villain with a unique weapon. I think he's the ultimate badass.
WHO WILL WIN: Javier Bardem
Bardem's won all the awards leading up, and he's a talented actor, so he'll be recognized. -RO
