Harvard University's drop in the U.S. News and World Report rankings may cost its students more than a loss of pride.
After falling behind Princeton in the magazine's annual list of top colleges for about 20 years, Harvard might see a blow to its endowment.

Three of the university's top givers have said the school's flaccid performance has made them less excited about the school, and less excited about giving money.
