After being approached by Sgt. Ralph Terracciano, Johnson resisted arrest, according to the report.

Terracciano was in the store at the time investigating a break-in, in which nearly $1,000 in Palm Pilots computers were stolen, Johnson said.

The books he is accused of shoplifting were all hardcover including a 30-pound dictionary, he said.

The alleged shoplifting is the third theft incident Borough Police have reported in the past week. Another University student was accused of stealing books on Feb. 12. On Feb. 17, a masked person entered the U-Store and stole several handheld computers.
