Clubs reportedly cutting widely in early sessions

With four days of Bicker gone, rumors are flyng around Commons faster than some of the waiters.

Essentially, in the all the tension, the sophomores' main question is quote, "Where am I going to get a bid?"

Despite the rumors, however, the only people who really know what is going on are the members of the sophomore Bicker committee, and they are as usual keeping all information close to their vests.

Michael E. Smith '65, chairman of the committee, did release some information yesterday about club cuts and dropouts.

Smith reported that 15 sophomores dropped out of Bicker before the calling period started. "I guess exams and the flu are taking their toll," Smith commented.

Since the start of visitations, one more sophomore has dropped out, he reported.

On the general course of Bicker, Smith was willing to reveal little. He did say, however, "There have been a lot of cuts. Clubs are trying to narrow down the number of men they are seeing so that they can spend more time with each one they visit," he speculated.

"But, so far, nobody has been cut by every club," he added.
