Beer-seeking intruder enters rooms

Two students reported finding an unidentified male in their dorm rooms late Sunday night and early Monday morning, police said.

A female resident of 1939 Hall allegedly woke up to find a white, "college-age" male weighing approximately 200 pounds with a cast on his arm standing in her room, according to Public Safety Crime Prevention Specialist Barry Weiser.

Weiser said the man asked the student if she had a beer. He allegedly walked out of the room when she responded that she did not.

A few hours later, a male resident of 1937 Hall entered his room and found a man of the same description in his room, according to Borough Police Capt. Charles Davall.

Again, the intruder asked the resident if he had any beer, Davall said.

This time, however, the man did not leave before allegedly taking a visor cap and pushing the student in the chest.

The student was not injured during the incident, according to Weiser.

Weiser said both incidents could have been avoided had the two students locked their doors. — BEN AUGUST
