Errol Thompson, the man wanted by police for allegedly shooting his wife and shooting at a coworker in the parking lot of the Merwick Rehabilitation Unit on Oct. 18, was arrested yesterday in St. Petersburg, Fla., according to a statement from the Mercer County Prosecutor's office.
Thompson was apprehended by officers from the Fugitive Investigative Strike Team while working as a dishwasher in a restaurant, according to the statement.
After the alleged shooting, Borough Police, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service, conducted an intense investigation to locate Thompson, but failed to apprehend the suspect in New Jersey.
Though he was at-large at the time, Thompson was indicted March 6 in Trenton on 19 charges related to the alleged assault on both victims, according to the statement.
