Dining services presents new meal plan, hours of operation for Frist Center

Director of Dining Services Stu Orefice gave a Microsoft PowerPoint demonstration at last night's USG meeting, detailing the new dining options and point plan that will be available with the opening of Frist Campus Center.

Orefice said DDS will add more meal plans combining varying meal and point numbers, in which one point equals one dollar. He said he expects the plans with more points to be popular with students who are busy with classes, practices and other activities.

Students will make purchases with points by using their prox cards, and additional points will be purchased through the DDS Webpage. Though points will be accepted in all DDS facilities, students will not be able to use them to purchase alcohol in the Beverage Laboratory.

Orifice added that leftover points will roll over at the end of each week and semester, but must be used by the end of the academic year.

He also said the hours of operation of the DDS facilities in the campus center would be longer than originally planned, adding that Frist Campus Center director Paul Breitman has been pushing for at least a 3:30 a.m. closing time for parts of the center's food market.
