The weekly meeting of the Undergraduate Student Government included discussion of two referenda to be voted on in the upcoming election, Vote 100, and The Daily Princetonian’s recent investigation into the University’s Honor Code.

Students who are interested in running for either an executive office or a Class Senate position are expected to attend at least one of two open houses. The first will take place on Nov. 18 at 8 p.m. via Zoom, and the second will take place on Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. in Frist 204.

From fake pearls to 1920s-themed appetizers, Princeton’s “Roaring Twenties'' themed Orange and Black Ball on Nov. 4th  was filled with all the glitz and glam that many students missed coming out of a global pandemic. Despite the difficulties the OBB’s date presented for some students — who celebrated the Hindu religious festival Diwali on that night — the ball allegedly saw an attendance increase of about 500 students since the last time it was held two years ago.

In a unanimous vote, USG re-allocated $25,000 of Tigers in Town funding to support an Off-Campus Dining Trial pilot program, in which 150 students will be provided a free weekly lunch, dinner, and snack off campus for four weeks.

Five new Undergraduate Student Government (USG) Class Councilors have been elected for the class of 2025: Kimberly Cross ’25, Gil Joseph ’25, Diya Kraybill ’25, Stephen Padlo ’25, and Ben Wachspress ’25. Results were announced via email on Oct. 8.

The total budget for the fall is approximately $600,000, an increase from the typical $200,000. Significant spending areas included Tigers in Town, Lawnparties, and a renovation to the USG office located in Frist Campus Center, with budget allocations of $150,000, $160,000, and $120,000 respectively.
