My foray into marathon running began over winter break during my sophomore year. A friend, whose free-spirited spontaneity was endlessly surprising and inspiring me, emailed me to tell me that she had registered for the New Jersey Shore Marathon.

For the first time in 41 games, the sprint football team came out on top.Never mind that their opponent, the Virginia Military Institute, is a newcomer to the sport this year.Never mind that this was only the third game ever for the Keydets.Never mind that sprint football is only a club sport for VMI.Never mind that since the Keydets aren't in the Collegiate Sprint Football League, neither team had to weigh in for the game.Never mind those caveats.

Though the sprint football team could not extend its winning streak to two games on Friday night in a 38-12 loss to Penn, the Tigers did show sparks of newfound confidence and successful execution in their season finale at home.Princeton (1-6 overall, 0-4 Collegiate Sprint Football League) outscored the Quakers (3-3, 1-3), 12-7, in the second half, but the Tigers could not overcome Penn's 23 first quarter points.
