As endowment drops, U. gives record financial aid

The University’s financial aid budget grew to a record $104.2 million this year, despite a struggling economy and a shrinking endowment. Sixty percent of the Class of 2013 received some form of financial aid, with an average grant of $35,309, up nearly 5 percent from last year’s average of $33,671 for the Class of 2012.
