The Davis International Center (IC) hosted its annual International Education Week from Nov. 17 to 21, offering a series of events celebrating the University’s international community and fostering cross-cultural exchange.
The week kicked off with Karaoke and Open Mic Night on Monday, featuring Playa Bowls. Students next attended a Maman-catered Career Workshop on Tuesday aimed at planning summer career opportunities.
Midweek activities included Tea and Tattoos on Wednesday which offered temporary henna art and samosas. Thursday’s Trivia Night asked questions about global cultures, alongside empanadas and prizes.
Friday’s Pies and Postcards gave students the opportunity to write postcards to family members while enjoying pie and was open to all students, regardless of international status.
Events held by the Davis IC are meant to help international students find community and support.
“The Davis IC does a really great job of bringing Princeton students together,” said Iman Monfopa Kone ’28. “I have been able to find a community that I can confide in.”

Amidst an uncertain environment for international students on college campuses due to restrictions imposed by the Trump administration, many international students at Princeton face increasing challenges.
Being an international student during the second Trump administration has been challenging, Felipe de Bolle ’26 noted.
“My friends are way more aware of what they post online … There is a lot of uncertainty about visas which makes it harder for international students to get jobs,” he said. In June, the U.S. State Department announced expanded vetting of student visa applications through social media profiles.
However, many students find the University and the Davis IC to be a significant support for international students.
“In terms of support, the Davis IC makes sure that freshmen have lots of events and meet lots of people to get some sort of community,” said Hazel Gupta ’26.
“Princeton does what it can … and [Davis IC] is a supportive community,” said Pyo Tarapi ’28.
