USG Movie: “A Separation”
This is an all-star week for the USG’s free Princeton Garden Theatre film. “A Separation,” which won an Oscar this year for Best Foreign Language Film, tops the charts on all your go-to movie rating systems. Boasting a 99 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and a 95/100 on Metacritic, “A Separation” tells the story of a modern-day Iranian family facing a difficult decision between finding a better life for their child in another country or staying in Iran to take care of an ailing family member with Alzheimer’s disease. A reviewer from the Miami Herald described the film quite simply: “I can’t imagine anyone not being transfixed by it.”

Theater: “Roll!”
”Roll!”, an original play by Jeff Kuperman ’12, follows an actor who loses his role on a television show after an intense, lasting bout of vertigo. The actor struggles to regain his balance, both literally and figuratively, by pursuing a burlesque dancer with a sleep-cooking habit. “Roll!” features interactive video and athletic choreography, all created by Kuperman. Don’t miss out on the final night of this incredible theater experience.

Concert: Richardson Chamber Players: “Constable & Landscape”
Presented in conjunction with the Princeton University Art Museum’s exhibit “John Constable: Oil Sketches from the Victoria and Albert Museum,” “Constable & Landscape” draws inspiration from John Constable’s paintings. Princeton’s performance faculty, guest artists and students will perform works by Debussy, Beethoven, Britten and Schumann in order to generate the atmospheric pre-impressionist world of Constable.

Comedy: Fristfest Comedy Show with Wyatt Cenac
Need some humor after a grueling semester? Come to the Fristfest Weekend Comedy Show. Princeton’s own Fuzzy Dice will open, and if you love “The Daily Show,” you can’t miss Wyatt Cenac and Adam Lowitt. Lowitt, the co-executive producer, and Cenac, correspondent and writer, will be treating students to some hilarious stand-up comedy. Get ready to laugh until you can’t tell the difference between rappers and Republicans.

Concert: Princeton University Wind Ensemble: Concert Under the Stars
The Princeton University Wind Ensemble will be celebrating the end of the semester this Saturday with its 13th annual Concert Under the Stars, featuring music from Hollywood hits like “Harry Potter,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Indiana Jones” and “Phantom of the Opera.” This free event, featuring copious amounts of free food, should be a fun and relatively tranquil prelude to Sunday’s not-so-tranquil musical extravaganza.

Theater: “Wanderland”
How would Alice, the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit fare among I-bankers and taxi drivers? In “Wanderland,” an adaptation of “Alice in Wonderland” that began as the senior thesis production of Veronica Siverd ’10, Alice and the gang take on the modern-day Manhattan jungle. The play, which stars class of 2010 alumni who performed in Siverd’s original production, is sure to be a worthwhile way to celebrate the end of classes.
