The Associated Press reported that the 22-person trial will be one of New York’s largest trials surrounding a political protest in recent years.
West and the protestors were rallying against New York City’s “stop and frisk” policy.
In November, West announced that he would leave Princeton at the end of the academic year to accept a teaching position at the Union Theological Seminary in New York. West will remain an emeritus professor at Princeton.
