USG Movie: “Pariah”

Interested in winding down a bit after last week’s high-octane Hunger Games? You’re in luck because this week the Garden Theatre is offering “Pariah,” an award winner at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. The film follows the trials and struggles of an African-American teenage girl named Alike in Brooklyn. While Alike endures the stresses of her parents’ strained marriage at home, she must also come to terms with her sexual identity as a lesbian. Pariah has won great acclaim from many audiences, and it should not be missed.
