Taub, who didn’t tell anyone about his entry in the competition until he advanced to the final 50, was elected by popular vote into the second-to-last round of voting. After another round of popular voting, the final five will proceed to a live finale in November, where the winner will be selected by a panel of judges.
After being elected to the top 10, Traub “traveled to London, met and performed for Jamie Cullum, and got comments and advice from him,” he said. Taub added that he also had an opportunity to attend one of Cullum’s performances.
