Yina Moore ’79 won the Democratic nomination for Borough mayor in the primary election on Tuesday. Moore, a member of the Regional Planning Board, defeated Borough Councilman David Goldfarb, 301-219.
Though neither Moore nor Goldfarb won the necessary 50 percent of the votes cast at a Princeton Community Democratic Organization nomination meeting to secure the PCDO’s official support last month, Goldfarb received the plurality of votes and the organization’s unofficial support.
Jill Jachera won the Republican mayoral nomination as an unchallenged write-in candidate with 67 votes.
Councilman Barbara Trelstad and Heather Howard, a Wilson School lecturer and director of the Wilson School’s State Health Reform Assistance Network, both won the Democratic nominations for the two open council seats. Both candidates were endorsed by the PCDO and ran unopposed.
Also unopposed, Dudley Siprelle and Peter Marks won the Republican nominations for the seats.
Sitting Township Committee member Bernard Miller and Deputy Mayor Sue Nemeth won uncontested Democratic nominations for their seats. Mark Scheibner and Geoff Aton won the uncontested Republican nominations.
