D. Michael Lindsay GS ’06 has been named the president of Gordon College, a Christian liberal arts college in Wenham, Mass.
Lindsay attended Baylor University as an undergraduate before earning graduate degrees at the Princeton Theological Seminary and the University of Oxford. He joined the faculty at Rice University after receiving his Ph.D. from the University’s sociology department.

He is currently a sociology professor and the director of the Program for the Study of Leadership at Rice.
Lindsay is slated to succeed R. Judson Carlberg as Gordon College’s president, effective July 1.
His first book, “Faith in the Halls of Power: How Evangelicals Joined the American Elite,” was published by Oxford University Press in 2007.
