News & Notes: U. named as ‘dream’ school

Just days before tens of thousands of high school students worldwide find out if they were accepted to the University, The Princeton Review released the results of its annual “College Hopes and Worries” survey. Princeton was ranked the fourth most popular “dream” school for college applicants and third for parents.

Students rated Stanford as their top “dream” school and Harvard as No. 2. New York University came in third, and Princeton was followed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Yale.

Harvard was first for parents, followed by Stanford. MIT, Yale and Duke trailed Princeton and NYU came in eighth. Brown came in seventh.

The University of California, Los Angeles came in seventh for students, followed by Penn, the University of Southern California and the University of California, Berkeley. None of these schools were featured on the parents’ list.
