News & Notes: University ranked among most-loved schools nation-wide

The survey was meant to measure school satisfaction by comparing the percentage of graduates who made financial donations to nearly 1,300 universities during the periods of 2007-08 and 2008-09. The University, the only Ivy League school on the list, reported that 60.3 percent of alumni made recent donations.

Princeton is also the only national university in the top 10.

Webb Institute, which tops the survey, reported a 70.9 percent rate of alumni giving.

Data showed generally higher donation rates at private institutions, and the 10 universities with the highest alumni giving rates were all private.

The size of each alumnus’ donation was not considered in this survey.

Donation rates also factor into the U.S. News Best Colleges 2011 ranking formula.
