The Leonard L. Milberg Collection of Irish Prose Writers contains more than 1,700 books, manuscripts, audiovisual materials and other pieces of Irish writing from 1798 to the present. The collection makes the University a leading resource for scholarship on Irish literature.
To highlight the donated works, the University opened an exhibition of selected works on Jan. 28 and will hold a symposium called “The Cracked Lookingglass: Highlights from the Leonard L. Milberg Collection of Irish Prose Writers” on Saturday, Feb. 5 and Sunday, Feb. 6. The event will feature leading contemporary Irish writers John Banville, Roddy Doyle, Anne Enright and visiting professor Colm Toibin.
