Web Update: Mmegwa ’14 elected class president

Luchi Mmegwa was elected Class of 2014 president following runoff elections earlier this week, USG president Michael Yaroshefsky ’12 announced in an e-mail to the Class of 2014 on Friday evening.

Mmegwa won the election with 450 votes, over three times more than his opponent Blaire Bloxom, who received 137.

Michael Moses was elected vice president with 227 votes. The other candidates for vice president, Devon Barrett and Trap Yates, received 166 and 173 votes, respectively. Yates is also a contributing writer for The Daily Princetonian.

Sophia Deng was elected treasurer after narrowly defeating her opponent, Anjali Menon, by a vote count of 297 to 279. Menon is also a ‘Prince’ contributing writer.

Mary D’Onofrio, who is also a contributing writer for the ‘Prince,’ was elected secretary with 749 votes after the initial round of voting, which took place Oct. 11–13. Andrea Baglioni was elected social chair, also in the first round of voting, after earning 388 votes.

Runoff voting took place between Monday and Wednesday last week.
