The four men — Gustav Rydevik ’13 of Old Greenwich, Conn.; Turner Smith ’13 of Rye, N.Y.; Ian Silveira ’12 of Ambler, Pa.; and Alexander Taaffe ’13 of Sarasota, Fla. — were later released on their own recognizance.
Borough Police reported that officers caught the four students trying to remove a meter and its mounting pole, worth an estimated $658, from just outside Ivy Club at 1:08 a.m. When the police arrived, the four 18-year-olds scattered.
