Dudeck informed the council that the Borough Police has begun meeting with eating club officials to prevent alcohol-related incidents on Prospect Avenue.
The announcement follows two arrests of University undergraduates and the issuing of a summons to a third student on Sept. 20, the day of Fall Lawnparties. But no mention of the Sept. 20 incidents was made at the Borough Council meeting, the Packet reported.
During his presentation at the meeting, Dudeck also informed council members that his department only has 26 officers.
“We are down in enforcement just about across the board,” he told the council, adding that in the past, the department has had as many as 34.
Recently, Dudeck has been involved with many eating club related arrests and charges, including a fall 2008 charge against Charter Club for two counts of serving alcohol to a minor and two counts of maintaining a nuisance.
Dudeck is one of three Borough Police lieutenants, and all three are being considered to become the next Borough Police chief after the death of former chief Anthony Federico this past summer.
