News & Notes: Students excel in Chinese Competition

Three university students placed in a Chinese-language speech competition held in New York on April 11. Randy Richardson ’10, Christina Ilvento ’10 and Danny Roberts ’10 placed first, second and third, respectively, at the eighth annual “Chinese Bridge” language proficiency competition held at New York University. The regional competition, hosted in more than 59 countries worldwide, is intended to promote greater cultural exchange between China and the rest of the world. Richardson, as the recipient of the top prize at the regional contest, won the opportunity to go to China to compete in the final round of competition.
