“I am grateful to Senators Lautenberg and Menendez for their confidence in my ability to lead the U.S. attorney’s office and their enthusiastic support. Public service is a privilege, and I am committed to guiding the office with fairness, impartiality and the highest level of integrity,” Fishman told The Star-Ledger on Friday.
Fishman is currently a partner at the law firm Friedman Kaplan Seiler & Adelman. He worked in the Justice Department from 1994-97, serving as an adviser to then-U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno. Earlier, he served as Assistant U.S. Attorney for New Jersey for 11 years and was chief of the criminal and narcotics divisions.

Fishman also served as an adviser to President Obama’s transition team.
