Concert: High Places
Terrace Club
Feb. 12, 12 a.m.
Performing at Terrace Club this weekend is the Brooklyn-based experimental duo High Places. The band, comprised of Mary Pearson and Rob Barber, performed at Terrace last spring and return this time with their self-titled full-length debut, produced by Thrill Jockey Records.
Theater: Vagina Monologues
The perfect date for young and innocent couples will be this weekend in the Frist Performance Theater. Screw "Love, Actually." Definitely forget "When Harry Met Sally." This is where it's at: rampant feminism, tormented rage and very graphic detail about one particular body part.
Frist Performance Theater
Feb. 12-14, 8 p.m.
Tickets are $7 for students and $10 for everyone else.
Comedy: Quipfire
To make sure you don't have to come up with all the jokes on your date, why don't you let the silly people on stage do it for you?
Theatre Intime

Feb. 12-14, 11 p.m.
Tickets are $6 at the door. Reserve yours at quipfire.com.
Theater: Reduced Shakespeare Company
Known as the "bad boys of abridgement," the Reduced Shakespeare Company has been a regular presence on the McCarter Theatre stage. And Shakespeare isn't all it does. In the past, these performers have also applied their unique dramatic touch to American history, Western civilization, the Bible and many other small and uncontroversial subjects. A must see!
McCarter Theatre
Feb. 14, 8 p.m.
TigerTickets will be accepted.
Film: Waltz with Bashir
This animated Israeli documentary - yes, I said animated documentary - follows director Ari Folman as he attempts to piece together his experience as a soldier in the 1982 Lebanon War. Unless you head into New York, this screening by the Program in Near Eastern Studies may be your only chance to see this critically acclaimed film before it vies for the Foreign Language Academy Award next Sunday.
East Pyne 010
Feb. 15, 7:15 p.m.
OUTSIDE THE BUBBLE
Music: Rufus Wainwright
If you enjoyed Wainwright's low-key performance at McCarter Theatre last year, be sure to catch him as his tour hits Montclair, N.J., on Friday. If one Wainwright ain't enough for you, he'll also be performing in Philadelphia on Saturday with his sister, Martha Wainwright, on back-up vocals. According to reports, Wainwright spent the better part of 2008 writing an opera: If you do make it out on Friday or Saturday, you may be in for the honor - or misfortune - of hearing it performed for the first time.
The Wellmont Theatre, Montclair, N.J.
Feb. 13, 8 p.m.
Music: Tom Jones
Performing at the prestigious Terminal 5 music venue in a few weeks is Tom Jones, the fake-tanned man of every housewife’s dreams. According to the venue’s website, the concert — saucily tagged “An Evening with Tom Jones” — is appropriate for all ages. Well, I can guarantee you one thing: If you make the wise decision to go, you will definitely be the youngest person there. Cross your fingers for a literal rendition of Jones’ hit “You Can Leave Your Hat On.”
