Cap accepted 21 bickerees out of more than 40, said a member of the club, whose name is being withheld because the person is not authorized to speak to the press. Ivy took eight of roughly 25 to 30 bickerees, said a member of that club, whose name is being withheld for the same reason.
Cap and Ivy officers did not respond to multiple requests for comment on Bicker numbers.
Tower had 50 bickerees, the largest fall Bicker class this year, and accepted 26 new members, club president Stephanie Burset ’09 said in an e-mail.
Per tradition, Tiger Inn did not hold fall Bicker. This was also the second year in a row that Cottage Club did not hold fall Bicker.
Tower’s large fall Bicker class reflects its continued popularity from last spring, when a record 217 students bickered. The 50 bickerees also reflects an increase over last year, when 38 students bickered in the fall and 18 were accepted.
Ivy accepted 12 of 26 bickerees last fall. Cap did not release its numbers, but unofficial reports from club members suggested that 23 students were taken.
Unlike last fall, when Tower restricted fall Bicker to juniors, both juniors and seniors were allowed to bicker this year. Cap also bickered seniors, while Ivy restricted its Bicker to juniors.
Pickups for Tower occurred Wednesday night, Cap on Thursday night and Ivy during the day on Friday.
