For my first two years at Princeton, the only thing that made the walk back possible, the only reason I didn't find a spot of floor in Mathey or a hallway in Wilson to crash in, was Karim. For some reason, finding Karim at Wawa, whatever the hour, windmilling his arms dramatically as he rang up your purchase, hitting on any girl within 20 yards and spitting wisdom like Confucius, all without missing a beat or a cash register keystroke, was strangely comforting for me. It seemed as though, no matter what the future held, Karim would always be there. And safe in that knowledge, my walks back to Forbes were never quite as bad as they could have been.

I lived in Forbes for two years and made the walk back from the Street well over 100 times. I could never have made it without my red-shirted buddy. We miss you, Karim.
