Mitt Romney

For me, executive experience is essential in a president, and Romney’s biography reveals his strengths as a leader. His successful career in the private sector, his work in rescuing the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics and his record as governor of Massachusetts show that he is an effective leader who can deliver results when it matters. Just as important is that he is clearly a decent and honest man of good character and family values.

As National Review said in its endorsement of Romney this December, “Unlike some other candidates in the race, Romney is a full-spectrum conservative: a supporter of free-market economics and limited government, moral causes such as the right to life and the preservation of marriage, and a foreign policy based on the national interest.” As we go into the general election, it is essential that Republicans have a nominee who can bring together all the different groups that make up the Republican coalition, rather than dividing the party against itself. Of those in the race, Romney is the candidate who would best be able to bring together a winning coalition.

Super Tuesday may not decide this primary race, and those whose turn to vote has not yet come should take another look at Mitt Romney. He is a solid Republican, a good leader and a good man, and he would be a great president.
