THE NOMINEES:
Atonement
Juno
Michael Clayton
No Country for Old Men
There Will Be Blood
WHO SOULD WIN:
Fareed Ben-Youssef: No Country for Old Men
Each element of the film, from acting to direction, just works. In the future it will be seen as one of the best films by some of the best artists today.
Adam Tanaka: There Will Be Blood
The first time I saw the trailer, I thought, "What the hell is this movie and why does it have such a stupid name?" But it's unlike anything I've ever seen. The only movie it vaguely reminds me of is "Citizen Kane," and that's no bad comparison.
Jun Koh: There Will Be Blood

It's dark and profound, full of Christian imagery. It's a great look back toward the establishment of America and American industry.
Russell O'Rourke: There Will Be Blood
I think "There Will Be Blood" deserves to win, though it probably won't take the top prize. It has the best acting, the best cinematography and the best music of any movie released in the past 10 years.
WHO WILL WIN: Atonement
"Atonement" has all the necessary ingredients: it's a period piece, it has accents, it has love and war. -AT
