Fareed Ben-Youssef: Julian Schnabel

This film captures the sense of confinement in a way that no other movie has before, but it also has that sense of liberation. He explores the small and the narrow, but also something we all experience — the joy of imagination.

Adam Tanaka: Paul Thomas Anderson

If you read the screenplay of "There Will Be Blood," I don't think it would read very well. It's kind of choppy, and it doesn't flow very well. But the film fits together really, really well. Visually, musically... he brings all the elements together.

I really liked "Diving Bell's" voice and its presentation. It succeeds in putting the audience within the mind of an invalid.

Russell O'Rourke: Paul Thomas Anderson

This is the first great movie that he has made. It shows a lot of progress from "Magnolia," which was well made, but had serious shortcomings. He has made an incredibly film and declared his voice as a filmmaker.
