Varsity Men's Water Polo
There's no better place to start than at the very top. That's where the men's water polo team sits as the current defending champs of the Princeton Dodgeball Tournament. Water polo, dodgeball — with such a similar skill set it's not hard to see why these guys are at the top of the game. Here are some thoughts courtesy of captain Nick Seaver '07 on this year's squad:
What makes your team the team to beat?
"Besides winning the tournament last year, I can say quite honestly that we have the best abs and biceps on campus. We did graduate several all-stars last year, but we have retained many dodgeball blackbelts including Reid 'The Torpedo' Joseph '07 and Jason 'You can't catch me on my skateboard' Diggs '08. Our team is unstoppable."
Do you or anyone on your team have a signature move than you plan to bust out on the court?
"Jason Diggs and Zack Beckmann '08, aka 'Horrendous Hippies,' play hacky sack with a dodgeball, confusing the competition until neither the other team, nor the hippies, can see the ball."
What is your team's Achilles heel?
"Mark 'Big Dumb Animal' Zalewski '10 might cry, embarrassing us in front of Sean 'Love dat Body' Dryden '07's fans."
And, of course, what will you guys do with the money if you take home the crown?
"We will spend all the money on cupcakes and eat them all in one night."
Cap & Gown Club
When it comes to serious dodgeballers, this team can't be much of an underdog to the water polo guys, if they can be considered underdogs at all. Last year this talented bunch finished runner-up, and the year before they won it all.
Trust these guys to be aggressive, well-prepared and hungry to make up for last year's shortcomings. Here's team captain Christine Ranney '08 on her group's key traits:

What makes your team the team to beat?
"Our basis for choosing people at bicker was dodgeball prowess."
Do you or anyone on your team have a signature move that you plan to bust out on the court?
"Former club president Meka Asonye '07's ball drop. See: Dodgeball overtime 2006 vs. TI"
What is your team's Achilles heel?
"Freddy Flaxman '07 ... enough said."
And, of course, what will you guys do with the money if you take home the crown?
"Get 100,000 pennies and swim around in them like Scrooge McDuck."
Nassoons
Ah, the beauty of dodgeball, probably the only sport where we can see the sweet-toned Nassoons potentially compete with athletic types. The Nassoons will begin their trek to the forefront of dodgeballin' history at 5:40 p.m. today against the Christian Impact club. Though they're capable of singing some sweet tunes, don't expect the Nassoons to play nice. A capella master Spencer Case '09 was kind enough to offer up some thoughts on his team:
What makes your team the team to beat?
"I think we could be great at coming up with interesting distractions during the game, for instance, an improptu kickline."
Do you or anyone on your team have a signature move that you plan to bust out on the court?
"As for special moves, I haven't played dodgeball in years, so I think I'll end up looking pretty spastic."
What is your team's Achilles heel?
"Definitely my team's Achilles heel would be the fact that no one is that athletic."
diSiac
Perhaps one of the most compelling opening round matchups will take place between two very talented Princeton arts groups: the whirling, twirling diSiac dancers and the consistently clever Triangle Club. DiSiac captain Pilar Castro Kiltz '10 relishes the challenge, the drama and, of course, a little bit of trash talking. Look for a fast-paced, highly competitive matchup between these two groups that simply love the thrill of performance.
What makes your team the team to beat?
"Dillon Gym = Intime stage (or any stage really) which means that we're going to dominate. To quote one of our members: 'I've been waiting to kick triangle's ass ever since I first heard the freaking honor pledge song. LET'S DO IT TO IT!!' Plus diSiac starts with the letter which makes us perfect for dodging, dipping, diving, ducking and dodging. Not to mention that dancers are more agile, graceful and passionate than anybody else. We're going to tear up the court."
What is your team's Achilles heel?
"If it was dance marley, we would beat you faster. It's not, so it'll have to take us six minutes, tops. Besides which, for a company KNOWN for our moves, we've got them all."
